About
Why I built Smiley Desk.
Dentists are losing real money to a problem nobody's tracking — and AI voice agents are finally good enough to fix it.
Roughly one in threedental calls goes unanswered — most callers don't leave a voicemail, they call the next practice. For a small or mid-sized office, that's tens of thousands of dollars a year quietly walking out the door, because the calls that didn't connect never show up in any report.
I built Smiley Desk because I kept watching this happen and realized current voice AI is finally past the uncanny line. Anna (our agent) holds a real phone conversation — handles new-patient intake, books in your calendar, triages emergencies with empathy, and refuses to invent prices or give clinical advice. The cleanest test is the one you can listen to on the home page.
We're running pilots with the first wave of US dental practices right now. The infrastructure is HIPAA-compliant end-to-end (the details), the pilot is genuinely risk-free — if Anna doesn't book 3+ new patients in two weeks you owe nothing — and we'll walk away with the call recordings handed back to you.
If you run a dental practice and you've ever wondered how many patients you're losing to voicemail — talk to me. Worst outcome, you finally learn the number. Best, we stop the bleed.
